The people took to seeking complaints; it was evil in the ears of YaHaWaH, and YaHaWaH heard and His wrath flared, and a fire of YaHaWaH burned against them, and it consumed at the edge of the camp.ויהי העם כמתאננים רע באזני יהוה וישמע יהוה ויחר אפו ותבער בם אש יהוה ותאכל בקצה המחנה :

The people cried out to Moses; Moses prayed to YaHaWaH, and th fire died down.ויצעק העם אל משה ויתפלל משה אל יהוה ותשקע האש :

He named that place Taberah, for the fire of YaHaWaH had burned against them.יקרא שם המקום ההוא תבערה כי בערה בם אש יהוה :

The rabble that was among them cultivated a craving, and the Children of Israel also wept one more, and said, “Who will feed us meat?והאספסף אשר בקרבו התאוו תאוה וישבו ויבכו גם בני ישראל ויאמרו מי יאכלנו בשר :

We remember the fish that we ate in Egypt free of charge; the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic.זכרנו את הדגה אשר נאכל במצרים חנם את הקשאים ואת האבטחים ואת החציר ואת הבצלים ואת השומים :

But now, our life is parched, there is nothing; we have nothing to anticipate but the manna!”ועתה נפשנו יבשה אין כל בלתי אל המן עינינו :

Now the manna was like a coriander seed and color was like the color of bedolach.והמן כזרע גד הוא ועינו כעין הבדלח :
8
The people would stroll and gather it, and grind it in a mill or pound it in a mortar and cook it in a pot or make it into cakes, and its taste was like the last of dough kneaded with oil.שטו העם ולקטו וטחנו ברחים או דכו במדכה ובשלו בפרור ועשו אתו עגות והיה טעמו כטעם לשד השמן :

When the dew descended upon the camp at night, the manna would descend upon it.וברדת הטל על המחנה לילה ירד המן עליו :

Moses heard the people weeping in their family groups, each one at the entrance of his tent, and the wrath of YaHaWaH flared greatly; and in the eyes of Moses it was bad.וישמע משה את העם בכה למשפחתיו איש לפתח אהלו ויחר אף יהוה מאד ובעיני משה רע :

Moses said to YaHaWaH, “Why have You done evil to Your servant; why have I not found favor in Your eyes, that You place a burden of this entire people upon me?ויאמר משה אל יהוה למה הרעת לעבדך ולמה לא מצתי חן בעיניך לשום את משא כל העמ הזה עלי :

Did I conceive this entire people or did I give birth to it, that You say to me, ‘Carry them in your busom, as a nurse carries a suckling, to the Land that You swore to its forefathers?האנכי הריתי את כל העם הזה אם אנכי ילדתיהו כי תאמר אלי שאהו בחיקך כאשר ישא האמן את הינק על האדמה אשר נשבעת לאבתיו :

Where shall I get meat to give to this entire people when they weep to me, saying, “Give us meat that we may eat?מאין לי בשר לתת לכל העם הזה כי יבכו עלי לאמר תנה לנו בשר ונאכלה :s

I alone cannot carry this entire nation, for it is too heavy for me!לא אוכל אנכי לבדי לשאת את כל העם הזה כי כבד ממני :
15
And if this is how You deal with me, then kill me now, if I have found favor in Your eyes, and let me not see my evil!”ואם ככה את עשה לי הרגני נא הרג אם מצאתי חן בעיניך ואל אראה ברעתי :

YaHaWaH said to Moses, “Gather to Me seventy men from the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people and its officers: take them to the Tent of Meeting and have them stand there with you.ויאמר יהוה אל משה אספה לי שבעים איש מזקני ישראל אשר ידעת כי הם זקני העם ושטריו ולקחת אתם אל אהל מועד והתיצבו שם עמך :

I will descend and speak with there, and I will increase some of the spirit that is upon you and place it upon them, and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, and you shall not bear it alone.וירדתי ודברתי עמך שם ואצלתי מן הרוח אשר עליך ושמתי עליהם ונשאו אתך במשא העם ולא תשא אתה לבדך :

“To the people you shall say, “Prepare yourselves for tomorrow and you shall eat meat, for you have wept in the ears of YaHaWaH, saying: “Who will feed us meat? for it was better for us in Egypt!”ואל העם תאמר התקדשו למחר ואכלתם בשר כי בכיתם באזני יהוה לאמר מי יאכלנו בשר כי טוב לנו במצרים ונתן יהוה לכם בשר ואכלתם :

Not for one day shall you eat, nor two days, nor five days, nor ten days, nor twenty days.לא יום אחד תאכלון ולא יומים ולא חמשה ימים ולא עשרה ימים ולא עשרים יום :

Until an entire month of days, until it comes out of you nose, and becomes nauseating to you, because you have rejected YaHaWaH Who is in your midst, and you have wept before Him, saying: “Why did we leave Egypt?”עד חדש ימים עד אשר יצא מאפכם והיה לכם לזרא יען כי מאסתם את יהוה אשר בקרבכם ותבכו לפיו לאמר למה זה יצאנו ממצרים :

Moses said, “Six hundred thousand foot solders are the people in whose misst I am, yet You say I shall give them meat, and they shall eat for a month of days!”ויאמר משה שש מאות אלף רגלי העם אשר אנכי בקרבו ואתה אמרת בשר אתן להם ואכלו הדש ימים :

Can sheep and cattle be slaughtered for them and suffice for them? Or if all the fish of the sea will be gathered for them, would it suffice for them?הצאן ובקר ישחט להם ומצא להם אם את כל דגי הים יאסף להם ומצא להם :

YaHaWaH said to Moses,”Is the hand of YaHaWaH limited? Now you will see whether My word comes to pass or not!”ויאמר יהוה אל משה היד יהוה תקצר עתה תראה היקרך דברי אם לא :

Moses left and spoke the words of YaHaWaH to the people; and he gathered seventy men from among the elders of the people and had them stand around the Tent.ויצא משה וידבר אל העם את דברי יהוה ויאסף שבעים אים מזקקני העם ויומד אתם סביבת האהל :

YaHaWaH descended in a cloud and spoke to him, and He increased some of the spirit that was upon him and gave it to the seventy men, the elders; when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, but did not do so again.וירד יהוה בענן וידבר אליו ויאצל מן הרוח אשר עליו ויתן על שבעים איש הזקנים ויהי כנוח עליהם הרוח ויתנבו ולא ידפו :

Two men remained behind the camp, the name of one was Eldad and the name of the second was Medad, and the spirit rested upon them, they had been among the recorded ones, but they had not gone out to the Tent, and they prophesied in the camp.וישארו שני אנשים במחנה שם האחד אלדד ושם השני מידד ותנח עליהם הרוח והמה בכתים ולא יצאו האהלה ויתנבאו במחנה :

The youth ran and told Moses, and he said “ Eldad and Medad are propheseying in the camp”.וירץ הנער ויגד למשה ויאמר אלדד ומידד מתנבאים במחנה :

Joshua son of Nun, the servant of Moses since his youth, spoke up and said, “My lord Moses, incarcerate them!”ויען יהושע בן בון משרת משה מבחריו ויאמר אדני משה כלאם :

Moses said to him, “Are you being zealous for my sake? Would that the entire people of YaHaWaH could be prophets, if YaHaWaH would place his spirit upon them!”ויאמר לו משה המקנא אתה לי ומי יתן כל עם יהוה נביאים כי יתן יהוה את רוחו עליהם :

Moses was brought into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.ויאסף משה אל המחנה הוא וזקני ישראל :

A wind went forth from YaHaWaH and blew quail from the sea and spread them over the camp, and day’s journey this way and a day’s journey that way, all around the camp, and two cubits above the earth.ורוח נסע מאת יהוה ויגז שלוים מן הים ויטש על המחנה כדרך יום כה וכדרך יום כה סביבות המחנה וכאמתים על פני הארץ :

The people rose up all that day and all the night and all the next day and gathered up the quail, the one with least gathered in ten homers, and they spread out all around in the camp.ויקם העם כל היום ההוא וכל הלילה וכל יום המחרת ויאספו את השלו הממעיט אסף עשרה חמרים וישטחו להם שטוח סבובות המחנה :

The meat was still between their teeth, not yet chewed, when the wrath of YaHaWaH flared against the people, and YaHaWaH struck a mighty blow against the people.הבשר עודנו בין שניהם טרם יכרת ואף יהוה חרה בעם ויך יהוה בעם מכה רבה מאד :

He named that place Kibroth hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had been craving.ויקרא את שם המקום ההוא קברות התאוה כי שם קברו את העם המתאוים :

From Kibroth hattaavah, the people journeyed to Hazeroth, and they remained in Hazeroth.מקברות התאוה נסעו העם חצרות ויהיו בחצרות :
